Sundial has no account, no sign-up and no server of its own. Your medications, your schedules and your dose history never leave your phone.
All of it. Sundial stores your medication data in a database on your phone and sends it nowhere.
If you delete Sundial, all of it is deleted with it. There is no copy anywhere else, which also means we cannot recover it for you. Use the export feature to keep your own copy.
Exports (PDF and CSV) are produced on your phone and handed to the iOS share sheet. Where they go from there is your choice; Sundial does not upload them.
Sundial sends anonymous usage counts, so we can tell which parts of the app are used and which are broken. This is on by default and you can switch it off at any time in Settings → Data.
There is no identifier of any kind. No account, no device ID, no advertising ID, no fingerprint, and no permanent number assigned to your installation. We cannot tell one person's events from another's, and we cannot link anything sent today to anything sent yesterday.
This is the entire set of what can ever be sent, enforced by the app's source code. An event that is not on this list will not compile.

Alongside these, our analytics provider records your app version and build, iOS version, device model, language, a country derived from your IP address (the address itself is not stored), a short-lived session number and a timestamp.
There is no free-text field anywhere in the list. There is nowhere for a medication name to travel even by mistake.
Aptabase processes the usage counts above. Aptabase collects no personal data and assigns no persistent identifier. Nothing else — no advertising network, no data broker, no social SDK.
We never track you across other apps or websites. Sundial does not use the advertising identifier and will never show you the iOS tracking prompt, because it has nothing to ask for.
Because nothing is linked to you, there is no personal data for us to look up, correct or delete on request — there is nothing on our side with your name on it. That is by design, not an evasion.
If you are in the UK, EU or EEA, the GDPR gives you rights over personal data about you: access, correction, erasure, restriction, objection and portability. Our lawful basis for the anonymous usage counts is legitimate interest — understanding whether the app works — and you can withdraw from it with the Settings toggle. Because we hold no identifier, we are generally unable to connect any request to specific records; you may still contact us.
If you are in California, the CCPA and CPRA give you rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not process it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
You may complain to your local data protection authority.
Sundial is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
If this policy changes we will update the date at the top and the copy inside the app. Material changes to what is collected will be announced in the app's release notes.
